Why This Matters

আমরা খাবার খাই, কিন্তু cell সরাসরি ভাত, মাছ, ডাল বা তেল ব্যবহার করতে পারে না। Cell ব্যবহার করে glucose, amino acid, fatty acid, glycerol, vitamin, mineral ও water। তাই digestive system হলো food-to-cell conversion system.

Core Concept

পরিপাক হলো জটিল খাদ্যকে সরল, দ্রবণীয় ও শোষণযোগ্য খাদ্যসারে রূপান্তরের প্রক্রিয়া। মানুষের digestive tract মুখ থেকে পায়ু পর্যন্ত প্রায় ৮–১০ মিটার দীর্ঘ পেশীবহুল নালী।

Mechanical and Chemical Digestion

Mechanical digestion খাদ্যকে ছোট অংশে ভাঙে, নরম করে, মেশায় এবং সামনের দিকে চালিত করে। উদাহরণ: chewing, churning, peristalsis.

Chemical digestion enzyme, acid, bile এবং intestinal secretion দিয়ে carbohydrate, amino-acid-forming food এবং lipid ভেঙে absorbable molecule তৈরি করে।

Summary
